Ticket Refund and Exchange

Can a train ticket be refunded?

The ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged, except in the case of an unplanned interruption in the movement of such suburban trains for more than one hour. Basis:

- clause 13 of the Decree of the Russian Government No. 810 dated May 27, 2021 “On Approval of the Rules for Provision of Services for Carriage of Passengers, as well as Cargo, Baggage and Cargo Baggage by Rail Transport for Personal, Family, Household and Other Needs Not Related to Business Activities.

- clause 160 of the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia No. 352 dated September 5, 2022 “On Approval of the Rules for Carriage of Passengers, Baggage and Cargo Baggage by Railway Transport.”

Documents required to apply for a reduced-fare ticket:

- identity document - documents confirming the preferential status (ID card, and Moscow Resident Social Card / Moscow Region Resident Social Card)

- certificate of entitlement to a set of social services issued by a social security authority (the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation) indicating the SNILS (Individual Insurance Account Number) (for federal benefits)

- SNILS (for one-time receipt of a code for further online issuance of a reduced-fare ticket)

Regional level benefits

- Pensioners (old-age) and citizens who, as of December 31, 2024, have reached the age of 55 for women and 60 for men and have a pension insurance record required for the award of an insurance old-age pension in accordance with federal legislation on pension provision, or the title of “Labor Veteran” or “Military Veteran” (the right to free travel is granted after the award of the insurance pension; labor veterans who receive pensions or lifetime support on other grounds are granted free travel upon reaching the age entitling them to an old-age insurance pension)

- large families (children – up to 18 years of age; parents – until the youngest child reaches 18 years of age)

- Honorary Donor of Russia, Honorary Donor of the USSR, Honorary Donor of Moscow

- labor veterans and persons equated to them as of December 31, 2004.

- persons accompanying disabled persons of group I, disabled children, as well as citizens recognized as disabled persons of groups II and III in accordance with the established procedure before January 1, 2010.

- veterans of combat operations from among the persons specified in Article 3 (clause 1, sub-clauses 1-4) of the Federal Law “On Veterans”

- persons awarded the “Resident of Besieged Leningrad” badge, the “Resident of Besieged Sevastopol” badge, or the “Resident of Besieged Stalingrad” badge

- persons who worked during the Great Patriotic War at certain facilities

- Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation, Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory

- Heroes of Socialist Labor, Heroes of Labor of the Russian Federation, Full Cavaliers of the Order of Labor Glory.

Online issuance of a reduced-fare ticket

Reduced-fare tickets for Aeroexpress trains can be issued online on the Aeroexpress website and in the mobile application.

To use the service you need to:

- Go to any Aeroexpress ticket office and receive a personal confirmation code for authorization on the website or in the mobile application. For this purpose, you need to present documents according to the benefit and SNILS

- In the personal account on the website or in the Aeroexpress mobile application, enter the received code once, as well as enter your SNILS number and date of birth. It is also necessary to confirm your phone number and e-mail address.

- After saving the data, the option to issue reduced-fare tickets will be available in the ticket purchase section, you do not need to go to the ticket office again and enter the data for subsequent issuance.

- A maximum of two reduced-fare tickets can be issued at a time, the required date can be selected with an advance purchase period of up to 90 days.

- When travelling, you must have your passport and documents confirming your entitlement to the benefit and present them to a company employee when passing through the turnstile, if required.
