Social responsibility

Aeroexpress participates in improvement of population’s social conditions and in environment preservation of Moscow. It solves the major social task of forming a modern transport infrastructure of the metropolises, unloading of the main highways, and improving the ecological situation. Being a client-oriented company, Aeroexpress continually expands its range of services, instills innovations, and forms service standards in accordance with the world’s best counterparts.

Activities of Aeroexpress consider the interests of socially disadvantaged population groups. In addition to providing special spaces for wheelchair users in carriages and toilet complexes – both aboard trains and at the company’s terminals – all of the company’s ticket offices are equipped with special intercom stations with adjustable volume control for hearing impaired people. A Personal Assistant service is also available to provide support for wheelchair users traveling by Aeroexpress trains. Platforms at the rail terminals and the company’s terminals are furnished with tactile plates, enabling visually challenged passengers to move on their own. In December 2013, Aeroexpress has made its website accessible for visually impaired passengers.

Aeroexpress is a socially responsible company and has been supporting the Spread Your Wings! Charity Foundation for a long time already. Since 2009, Aeroexpress has been a long-standing partner of the Train of Hope, an all-Russian charity initiative organized as part of the social project ‘Children’s Issue’, jointly administered between the Radio Rossii state radio company, the Spread Your Wings! Charity Foundation, and Aeroflot Russian Airlines. The Train of Hope programme involves arranging meetings between potential adoptive or foster parents with children who lack parental care.

In 2013, Aeroexpress assumed patronage over the Dedovsk special comprehensive boarding school, which makes every effort to help its students socially adapt more smoothly. In June 2013, Aeroexpress, together with Sheremetyevo Airport, held an Open Day for children from the Dedovsk boarding school. The children went on a sightseeing tour and visited the Aeroexpress and Sheremetyevo facilities.

Aeroexpress strives to achieve and maintain the status of a modern highly efficient and socially responsible company. To accomplish this, it uses innovative management techniques. The Aeroexpress quality management system is certified as complying with the rail passenger transportation requirements set out in the ISO 9001:2008 international standard. In 2013, Aeroexpress obtained a certificate attesting that its corporate activities fully comply with the ISO 26000:2010 international standard “Guidance on social responsibility”. The certificate was issued by the Russian National Association of Rail Transport Employers.
