Aeroexpress express buses transported 17 million passengers over 7 years
Oct 18, 2026
Aeroexpress is celebrating seven years since the launch of its bus service. During this time, 17 million people have used the company’s express buses to and from Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports.
On October 15, 2019, the company first supplemented its railway routes with bus services — Aeroexpress express buses began operating on the route from the Khovrino metro station to the Northern Terminal Complex of Sheremetyevo Airport. In March 2022, the buses started running from the Domodedovskaya metro station to Domodedovo Airport. Over the entire period of operation, the vehicles on both routes have covered 26 million kilometers.
“Over seven years, Aeroexpress express buses have become a convenient and familiar way to get to the airports and an important part of Moscow’s transport system. We have transported 17 million passengers: about 12 million people to Sheremetyevo and 5 million travelers to Domodedovo. The schedule adherence rate is over 99%, and the buses make 458 trips daily.” “We see a steady demand for this type of transport and will continue to develop the service on bus routes,” said Andrey Akimov, CEO of Aeroexpress.
He noted that since the beginning of the year, 2.8 million passengers have used the company’s express buses. In 2026, Aeroexpress plans to transport 3.6 million people using this mode of transport.
On both routes, buses run without additional stops. The travel time to Sheremetyevo is 20 minutes, and to Domodedovo — 30–40 minutes. Buses depart every 10-20 minutes, depending on the route. The schedule allows passengers of early and late flights to get to the airports comfortably and on time.
The company is consistently developing its bus services: it is updating its fleet of vehicles, improving the service, and adjusting the location of bus stops to make it more convenient for passengers, taking into account changes in airport operations.
