This summer, Aeroexpress passengers have forgotten half as many items as they did last summer
Sep 9, 2026
740 personal items were left by Aeroexpress passengers in trains, express buses, and the company’s terminals during the summer months, which is 2 times less than in June–August of the previous year.
Most often, passengers forgot their belongings on August 1, 17, and 22 — 20 items each day.
The most common finds were various types of hats, umbrellas, sunglasses and prescription glasses, cosmetic bags and wallets, travel pillows, documents, jackets and windbreakers, keys, and a large number of children’s toys. Traditionally, the company’s employees found atypical lost items: an easel, a multicooker and a blender, a book on quantum physics, a white radio, a lamp, a primer, a picnic set, a string bag, a certificate, and a student ID.
“Passengers at Sheremetyevo Airport forgot the most items — 500 pieces; another 240 items were left on routes to Domodedovo Airport. 150 owners returned to retrieve their belongings. At the same time, in summer our staff found half as many forgotten items compared to the same period last year,” said Vera Agafonova, Director of Public Relations at Aeroexpress.
She noted that all trains and express buses feature informational messages reminding passengers to be careful and not to leave personal belongings in the transport.
To return a lost item, the passenger needs to contact the Aeroexpress hotline or the on‑duty specialist at the company’s terminal and submit a loss report. The company’s staff will contact the owner and help arrange the return.
Forgotten items are stored in the Aeroexpress warehouse for six months from the date of loss. The exception is food items — they are disposed of immediately.
The Aeroexpress lost‑and‑found warehouse is located near Belorussky Railway Station. The delivery is carried out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 13:00 to 17:00 against a receipt and upon presentation of an identity document.
Before visiting the warehouse, customers must inform the company’s employees about their arrival in advance, at least 24 hours in advance. To do this, you can contact the Aeroexpress hotline at the following numbers: 8-800-700-33-77 (for calls from regions of Russia and from mobile phones) or 8-495-663-84-10 (for calls from Moscow).
