Aeroexpress carried 183 million passengers in 19 years

May 17, 2024

The Aeroexpress company celebrates its 19th anniversary. The Aeroexpress company was founded on May 17, 2005. For 19 years now, Aeroexpress has been providing a convenient and timely way to get from Moscow and some areas of the region to the capital’s airports: since the company’s founding, Aeroexpress trains and express buses have transported 183 million passengers to Moscow airports. At the same time, the company is constantly working to develop the route network taking into account changing transport trends.

«Today Aeroexpress is not just a train from the center of Moscow to the airport, but part of many multimodal chains for traveling to the capital’s air hubs from different points of the city and even the region. There are 16 intermediate stops on the company’s railway routes: each passenger can choose the most convenient train boarding station, make quick transfers to the metro, MCC, Moscow Central Diameters and other types of ground transport. At the same time, 18 Moscow districts and two cities in the Moscow region have direct connections with airports,» notes Andrey Akimov, CEO of Aeroexpress.

Passengers are transported by comfortable double-decker and single-decker trains. Since 2012, Aeroexpress has been carrying out the full cycle of maintenance of its rolling stock at its own depot. In addition, the company also provides repairs and maintenance of trains of other commuter carriers at the depot.

Since 2019, Aeroexpress has been developing express bus service between the capital and airports. The company's express buses run on two routes: between the Khovrino metro station and Sheremetyevo Airport and between the Domodedovskaya metro station and Domodedovo Airport. Passengers are transported by roomy low-floor NEFAZ buses and large-class tourist buses with a high interior and luggage compartment.

The company pays great attention to passenger services. On all train routes there is a free “Personal Assistant” escort service for passengers with limited mobility. Digital services are actively developing: the company recently introduced a new website format and a mobile application of the same name with a tariff constructor, which allows you to automatically select the most favorable tariff according to specified travel parameters. Various methods of paying for tickets are available to passengers, including modern Russian services Fast Payment System, Sber Pay and Yandex Pay, as well as an innovative biometric payment system.
