Aeroexpress increased passenger traffic by 15.2% in 2023

Jan 18, 2024

The company's share of the market for transportation to capital airports was 15.5%, the highest since 2016.

In 2023, Aeroexpress trains and express buses carried 11 million people, 15.2% more than a year earlier. The company's share of the market for transportation to airports over the past year was 15.5%, which is 1.0 percentage points higher than the previous year.

"Last year, we focused on developing existing Aeroexpress routes, including doing a lot of work to improve the company's bus routes - we completely updated the fleet of vehicles, significantly reduced departure intervals and increased the number of routes. We can see the results of all the implemented projects in the figures: passenger traffic and the company's share continue to grow confidently for the second year in a row," said Aeroexpress CEO Andrey Akimov.

In 2023, the company implemented several major projects to develop railway and bus routes, as well as digital services.

For example, Aeroexpress completely updated its fleet of vehicles on express bus routes to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports. Passengers are transported by tourist buses with a high cabin and luggage compartment and spacious low-floor buses. The company also increased the daily number of trips and reduced bus departure intervals to 10 minutes on the Sheremetyevo route and to 15 minutes on the Domodedovo route, which made it possible to more evenly distribute passenger traffic and make trips more comfortable. Thanks to this set of measures, the passenger traffic of the company's express buses increased by 53% compared to 2022.

Last year, the travel time between Kievsky Railway Station and Vnukovo Airport was reduced to 33 minutes, and between Aminyevskaya and Vnukovo Airport to 23 minutes. With the launch of MCD-4 "Aprelevka - Zheleznodorozhny", passengers now have new options for transfers to Aeroexpress, as the diameter intersects with the company's routes to Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports. From the new MCD-3 "Zelenograd - Ramenskoye", you can also transfer to an express bus to Sheremetyevo Airport at Khovrino station.

A biometric payment system has been launched on all Aeroexpress railway routes. In addition, the company has updated the aeroexpress.ru website - now the main page features a constructor that will help the user select the desired transfer and issue a ticket in a few clicks.
