210 million passengers have been transported by Aeroexpress since its foundation
May 18, 2026
Aeroexpress turned 21 on May 17, during which time trains and express buses transported more than 210 million passengers to the capital's airports. About 30 thousand Muscovites and guests of the capital use Aeroexpress services every day.
Aeroexpress was founded in 2005 and has become an integral part of the capital's transport system for two decades. Aeroexpress provides a convenient and time–accurate way to get from Moscow and some areas of the region to airports, and offers alternative transfer options to airways - you can get there either by train or by express bus.
"The Aeroexpress route network is constantly evolving – today it is possible to get to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports not only from central stations, but also from a number of other stations that are conveniently integrated with urban transport. For example, Aeroexpress passengers who travel to Sheremetyevo Airport and back have access to 19 convenient transfers by metro, MCD and MCC. Domodedovo Aeroexpress also has stops at major transport hubs," said Andrey Akimov, CEO of Aeroexpress.
Aeroexpress operates comfortable and modern rolling stock – double-decker and single-decker trains. The company became the first private commuter carrier to operate its own trains. For this purpose, the Aeroexpress depot was established in 2012. Today, not only the company's trains are serviced there, but also the rolling stock of other carriers – about 50 units of railway transport.
You can get to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports not only by train, but also by Aeroexpress express buses. In 2019, the company launched a regular route from Khovrino Metro Station to terminals B and C of Sheremetyevo Airport. Buses run along the M-11 toll highway without additional stops, the journey time is 20 minutes. Since 2022, an express bus route has been operating from Domodedovo Metro Station to Domodedovo Airport. Passengers are transported by spacious tourist-class buses with a high-comfort cabin and a spacious luggage compartment. Travel time is 30-40 minutes, with minimal traffic – 20 minutes.
"Aeroexpress trains operate an average of 150 flights daily, express buses – more than 500 flights. The accuracy of our transport is consistently at the level of 99.9%. Aeroexpress bus and train fleets are represented by modern rolling stock, which is designed taking into account the specifics of trips to airports," said Aeroexpress CEO Andrey Akimov.
In its activities, the company strives to provide passengers with the highest level of service. A barrier-free environment has been created in terminals and trains, modern fare payment methods are available for passengers, including biometrics, and a variety of client services: a free Personal Assistant escort service for low-mobility passengers, on-board meals on trains, free related services for business class passengers, and others.
Aeroexpress plans to continue working on improving airport transport accessibility and developing passenger services. In 2026, the company is implementing several projects to develop existing routes and strengthen integration into the urban transport system.
