10 million passengers were served by the Aeroexpress terminal at Domodedovo Airport in 3 years of operation

Jul 15, 2024

The modern Aeroexpress terminal complex at Domodedovo Airport opened its doors to passengers exactly 3 years ago – on July 15, 2021.

The opening of the railway terminal in 2021 made it possible to make the journey from Moscow to the air harbor as “seamless” and comfortable as possible: the Aeroexpress terminal is connected to the Domodedovo Airport building by a pedestrian gallery that combines the infrastructure into a single passenger complex. Air passengers enter the departure hall directly from the railway platform using the “dry feet” principle, and the journey from the train to the check-in counters takes no more than 5 minutes.

The pedestrian gallery has a separate entrance inspection point. This ensures speed and safety of service for air travelers, and also allows the load to be evenly distributed between all entrance groups in the terminal.

Over the three years of operation, the Aeroexpress terminal has served 10 million passengers at Domodedovo Airport. Spacious passenger areas make it possible to ensure a comfortable stay for travelers even during increased passenger traffic.

The first and second floors of the terminal are occupied by a passenger service area, where ticket offices, ticket machines, seats, cafes, shops and other services are located. For ease of movement with luggage, elevators and escalators are installed between floors. All necessary elements of an accessible environment for passengers with limited mobility are also provided: tactile tiles on the platform, special ticket offices and turnstiles, and restrooms. There is a hotel on the third and fourth floors of the terminal, which is convenient for transit passengers.

Let us recall that Aeroexpress connected Domodedovo Airport with the center of Moscow in 2008. Trains run every half hour and deliver passengers from Paveletsky station to the air harbor in 45 minutes. You can also board the Aeroexpress to Domodedovo at the Verkhnie Kotly station, which is integrated with the MCC station of the same name, and at the railway station in the city of Domodedovo.
