Aeroexpress Hosts 20th Anniversary Total Dictation Event
Apr 20, 2024
Today, Aeroexpress hosted its fourth Total Dictation event, marking the 20th anniversary of this nationwide educational initiative. This year, the event took place at the company’s depot at Belorussky Station.
Approximately 20 participants had the opportunity to test their literacy skills at Aeroexpress.
The dictation text was written by renowned Russian author and journalist Anna Matveeva, a multiple finalist for the "Big Book" award and known for her works in Ural magical realism. The dictation was read by Klim Sanatkin, a reporter from NTV’s “Central Television” program.
Following the dictation, participants enjoyed a guided tour of the depot conducted by company staff. They explored the Aeroexpress rolling stock, observed the maintenance and repair of electric trains, and learned about the training and duties of locomotive crews.
Aeroexpress has become a traditional venue for the Total Dictation event. Previous events were held at the company’s Unified Dispatch Center at Sheremetyevo Airport and three years ago on a train traveling from Savelovsky Station to Sheremetyevo.
Total Dictation is an annual educational campaign open to everyone, regardless of age, nationality, education level, or social status. It emphasizes the importance of literacy and engages people in learning and using the Russian language in a fun and meaningful way.
