For the next month, passengers on Aeroexpress trains to Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports will be able to watch a video about autism, which is designed to raise their awareness and provide accurate information about the condition.
“The goal of the project is to inform passengers about how to effectively interact with individuals with autism and their families, debunk common myths, and generally enhance societal understanding of this developmental condition. Aeroexpress is pleased to support the Naked Hearts Foundation’s information campaign for the fifth time, and we are happy to provide a platform for this educational initiative,” said Natalia Saksina, Head of the Aeroexpress Press Service.
“People are gradually becoming more aware of autism. This is due to two factors: first, improved autism diagnostics; second, the increased awareness among Russians, thanks to the extensive work done by NGOs, including the Naked Hearts Foundation. We are delighted that for the fifth consecutive year, Aeroexpress is joining our educational efforts,” noted Asya Zalogina, President of the Naked Hearts Foundation.
Autism is the most common developmental disorder. According to estimates from the Russian Ministry of Health, there are more than 300,000 children with autism in Russia. Despite its prevalence, a survey conducted by the Naked Hearts Foundation and VCIOM revealed that only 77% of Russians have heard of autism, and just 22% claim to have a good understanding of the disorder.
Aeroexpress is continuously working to make travel comfortable for all passenger categories, including those with mental and sensory conditions. The trains are designed with low noise levels, comfortable seats, and designated spaces for strollers. Additionally, a free “Personal Assistant” service is available on all routes if needed.
