In 2022, Aeroexpress trains and express buses carried 9.5 million people - the company's passenger traffic increased by 7% compared to 2021. Aeroexpress' share increased by 2.3 percentage points over the past year and amounted to 14.5%.
"Despite the unprecedented challenges that the entire aviation industry faced last year, the company managed not only to meet the planned transportation indicators, but also to significantly increase its market share, achieving the best result in 6 years of 14.5%. This became possible due to the successful implementation of a number of projects, including the launch of a new express bus route to Domodedovo Airport, the launch of trains directly to Terminals B and C of Sheremetyevo Airport, the introduction of new convenient payment methods in online and offline channels. In 2023, we will continue to work on improving the transport accessibility of the capital's airports and improving the quality of service. We expect that the trend towards increasing passenger traffic will continue in 2023," said Aeroexpress CEO Andrey Akimov.
In 2022, the company implemented several major projects that directly contribute to improving the transport accessibility of Moscow's main airports.
For example, in March last year, Aeroexpress launched a new express bus route from Domodedovskaya metro station to Domodedovo Airport. Large-class tourist buses with a comfortable interior and spacious luggage compartment are used on this route. In addition, for the convenience of passengers, Aeroexpress has reduced the intervals between express buses between the Khovrino metro station and Sheremetyevo Airport to 15 minutes.
In June, Aeroexpress trains began running to terminals B and C of Sheremetyevo Airport, where a new modern station complex was opened, which is integrated with the airport. Passengers and employees of the air hub now have the opportunity to travel directly from Moscow without transfers to terminals B and C, where all arrivals and departures have currently been transferred.
During the year, a number of modern domestic payment services were launched: Yandex Pay, SberPay, Fast Payment System. Already at the beginning of 2023, passengers also had the opportunity to pay for travel at Sheremetyevo using the biometric payment system. These modern methods allow you to buy a ticket as quickly and conveniently as possible.
