On June 1, a new terminal for Aeroexpress opened for passengers in the Northern Terminal Complex (NTC) of Sheremetyevo Airport, and Aeroexpress trains on the Sheremetyevo direction began running along an updated route - the trains now deliver passengers directly to terminals B and C.
The launch of Aeroexpress train service in the NTC was made possible by the implementation of a large-scale investment project of Russian Railways - the construction of a new railway line and station complex in the NTC. The 4.2 km long line connected the existing Aeroexpress terminal in the Southern Terminal Complex (terminals D, E, F) and the new railway terminal in the NTC (terminals B, C).
"The launch of train service to the Northern Terminal Complex is especially relevant now. It is in terminals B and C that all flights are currently serviced. Terminal B is completely new, it was opened in 2018, and terminal C - in 2019 after a large-scale reconstruction. And already today, direct passenger rail service has been organized with the new terminals,” emphasized Vitaly Savelyev, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
"Today is a significant day for the transport system and for the railways as a whole, because a new terminal is being launched, a new line here to Sheremetyevo Airport. The Moscow transport hub is one of the best in the world in terms of comfort and intermodality. Each element has its own significance, is connected to the other, and transportation is carried out both within Moscow and in the Moscow region. It is also important to get to the airport quickly, conveniently and comfortably," said Oleg Belozerov, CEO and Chairman of the Board of JSC Russian Railways.
The Aeroexpress terminal in the Southern Terminal Complex (UTK) has become an intermediate stop - Aeroexpress trains from Moscow arrive at the STC, after which they continue to the northern terminals. Passengers can get off at the Southern Terminal Complex or proceed to the Northern without changing. The stop at the STC lasts 5 minutes. Then the train goes to the Northern Terminal Complex, the travel time between the terminals is about 10 minutes. In the opposite direction, trains run on a "mirror" algorithm.
"We got the opportunity to launch trains to the Northern Terminal Complex at the right time, since all Sheremetyevo arrivals and departures have been transferred to terminals B and C. Previously, Aeroexpress trains arrived and departed only from the Southern Transport Circle. To get to or from terminals B and C, you had to walk to the underground inter-terminal passage and use it - with a suitcase, this route is less convenient. The launch of the new railway line is a new level of comfort for air passengers and airport employees. Now you can get from Moscow by Aeroexpress directly to terminals B and C without transfers, traffic jams and stress, and the journey from the train to the check-in counters will take only 5 minutes," said Aeroexpress CEO Andrey Akimov.
The new station complex is connected by a convenient pedestrian gallery on the "dry feet" principle with terminals B and C. From the passage, passengers get to the floor where the departure zones of both airport terminals are located.
The railway terminal itself has everything necessary for a comfortable stay for passengers - a full-length canopy has been installed over the platforms to protect passengers from precipitation, the terminal premises have a waiting area, ticket offices and Aeroexpress ticket machines, restrooms, turnstile lines, electronic boards, and a separate airport security area.
For the convenience of passengers, a barrier-free environment has been created - elevators, escalators and travelators have been installed. For passengers with disabilities, special ticket offices and turnstile blocks, tactile tiles are provided. The company also traditionally provides a free personal assistant service for citizens in the new terminal - Aeroexpress employees will meet the passenger and provide assistance in processing travel documents with the right to priority service, assistance in placing luggage in the Aeroexpress, and assistance in boarding the cars.
Passengers are transported to Sheremetyevo Airport by comfortable double-decker trains, which have everything necessary for a pleasant trip to the airport: soft ergonomic chairs, luggage racks, restrooms, a climate control system with an air disinfection function, sockets and Wi-Fi access.
The departure interval of Aeroexpress trains with the launch of the new final stop in STK has not changed - trains depart every 30-40 minutes both in the direction of the airport and from the airport. The trip to terminals B and C from Okruzhnaya will take 50 minutes, from Savelovskaya - about 60 minutes, from Belorussky Station - about 65 minutes. Let us remind you that you can board the Aeroexpress to Sheremetyevo from a number of MCD-1 stations: Okruzhnaya, Savelovskaya, Begovaya, Testovskaya, Slavyansky Bulvar, Skolkovo, Odintsovo and others. You can view the schedule on the Aeroexpress website and in the mobile application in the Schedule section, by calling the hotline at 8-800-700-33-77 (for calls from regions of Russia and from mobile phones) and 8-495-663-84-10 (for calls from Moscow), as well as from company employees at the terminals.
All current Aeroexpress fares apply to travel from Moscow to terminals B and C. The ticket price does not depend on the boarding/disembarking station and is uniform. The ticket price for the Standard fare has not changed and is 450 rubles. Group fares and subscription offers are also available. The cost of a trip at the “Subscription” rate to/from Sheremetyevo Airport is 150 rubles.
