Aeroexpress Reports 25% Increase in Online Ticket Sales Compared to 2019
Oct 7, 2021
The company’s website traffic increased by 50% in September compared to the same period in pre-pandemic 2019.
Aeroexpress passengers have been purchasing tickets online more frequently. Over the first nine months of the current year, approximately 500,000 tickets were bought on the website, marking a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2019. Additionally, in September, the number of visitors to the company's website grew 1.5 times compared to September 2019.
“We are actively working on developing online channels to make them as convenient, cost-effective, and useful for passengers as possible. The price of a standard Aeroexpress ticket on the website is 399 rubles, which is lower than the ticket price at the counters. This year, we successfully approached lawmakers with an initiative to eliminate the requirement of entering passport details when purchasing tickets online—today, tickets can be bought on the website and mobile app with just a few clicks, selecting only the fare, travel date, and number of tickets,” said Mikhail Grafchikov, Commercial Director of Aeroexpress.
The company is also expanding the range of services available on its website. Currently, passengers on the aeroexpress.ru portal can not only buy tickets for trains and express buses but also purchase airline tickets, book excursions, and reserve business lounges and other VIP services at airports worldwide. This allows them to save time and plan several stages of their journey using a single digital platform.
