Over 150,000 Passengers Served at New Aeroexpress Terminal at Domodedovo During First Two Weeks of Operation

The four-storey terminal complex opened its doors to passengers on July 15. Over 150,000 passengers travelling to and from Domodedovo Airport used the terminal during the first two weeks of its operation.

The terminal is connected to the airport by an indoor pedestrian gallery making it possible for passengers to stay in and dry all the way. Moreover, to reach the airport building, passengers do not have to go outside. And it takes less than five minutes to walk from the train to the airport check-in desks. Therefore, trips to and from Domodedovo by Aeroexpress trains have become even faster and more seamless.

The new terminal’s traffic capacity is 1,500 passengers per hour. Spacious passenger areas make it possible for passengers to maintain the required social distance even when passenger traffic is high, which is especially vital during the pandemic.

Passenger zones occupy Levels 1 and 2, where one can find ticket offices, TVMs and seating areas. Soon, cafes, shops and other services will also be available. Elevators and escalators make it easier to move with baggage from one floor to another. For the convenience and safety of passengers with limited mobility, the terminal is furnished with all the required facilities, including tactile plates on the floors, special ticket offices, turnstiles and toilets. In addition, there is a hotel on Levels 3 and 4 of the terminal, which is particularly convenient for transiting air travellers.
