Aeroexpress and TASS Open Photo Exhibition "The Road to Victory"
May 1, 2021
The exhibition features photographs taken by frontline correspondents from the TASS news agency. The project is organized by Aeroexpress and TASS.
The exhibition opened today, May 1, at the Aeroexpress terminal at Paveletsky railway station. It is dedicated to the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and tells the story of the paths that led to it. Transporting soldiers, evacuating the wounded and entire factories, delivering weapons and ammunition, providing medical supplies, and supporting military operations—all of these responsibilities fell on the shoulders of transport workers during the war.
The exhibition includes 20 archival photographs taken by TASS military photojournalists. Alongside Soviet troops, they traveled all the roads of the war. Among the renowned photographers featured are Yevgeny Khaldei, Max Alpert, Mark Redkin, Emmanuel Evzerikhin, and Nikolai Sitnikov. Through their works, many of which are now part of history textbooks, the new generation today learns about the chronicles of the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition is free to the public.
It is also worth noting that from May 1 to May 10, Aeroexpress traditionally offers free business-class travel for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and their companions on all train routes, along with special commemorative gifts.
