Passport Details No Longer Required to Purchase Aeroexpress Tickets Online

The process of buying Aeroexpress tickets from the website and mobile app has become quicker and easier. From now on, passengers do not need to enter their full name and passport details. This option is currently possible thanks to the amendments introduced to Order No. 322 ‘On Defining Railway e-Ticket Forms’, issued by the Russian Federation Ministry of Transport on 21 August 2012. Previously, passengers needed to provide their passport details when purchasing tickets for suburban trains online, as required by the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

“To simplify the process of buying tickets and making it more comfortable, we addressed the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation with an initiative to revise the existing requirements to suburban carriers and cancel the mandatory entry of passport details when buying tickets online. We are pleased that the Ministry of Transport has supported our initiative and hope that passengers will appreciate the convenience of the updated algorithm for purchasing tickets online”, said Alina Bisembaeva, CEO of Aeroexpress.

With just a few clicks, passengers can buy Aeroexpress tickets via the website or mobile app by selecting the date, fare and the number of tickets they need (while purchasing business class tickets, it is also necessary to choose the route and train service). This service is already available for Android users and will soon be implemented for iOS devices.

The novelty will significantly reduce the time spent on purchasing tickets and eliminate queues and social contacts at ticket offices, which is especially important during the pandemic. Moreover, it is easier to plan trips to and from the airport when buying tickets online. E-tickets are available via the Aeroexpress website and mobile app three months before the expected date of travel. They are valid for 30 days from the date selected upon purchase.
