Aeroexpress Ready for Increased Passenger Flow Due to Severe Weather
Feb 13, 2021
Aeroexpress trains to Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports continue to operate on schedule despite recent snowfall.
The snowfall on February 12 did not affect Aeroexpress operations. On Friday, the company's trains and express buses transported 24,000 passengers to and from the airports without any disruptions.
On Saturday, February 13, Aeroexpress trains are running according to the timetable. The spacious carriages accommodate passengers comfortably even under increased demand.
The company is taking all necessary measures to ensure safety, reliability, and comfort of travel. Throughout the winter season, the trains' current collectors are treated with anti-icing lubrication. During adverse weather conditions, cleaning teams at the endpoints of the train routes are strengthened to clear the sliding doors of ice and snow. Climate control systems maintain a comfortable temperature inside the carriages. Regular cleaning is conducted to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, the entrance areas of the double-decker Aeroexpress trains are equipped with special flooring that cleans shoe soles as passengers walk, preventing significant dirt accumulation on the cabin carpets.
Passengers are advised to wait for boarding in the terminals, where comfortable temperatures are maintained and regular cleaning is conducted. Hot beverages are available in terminals and on board Aeroexpress trains to help keep passengers warm.
