Aeroexpress Prepares for Winter Season
Nov 3, 2020
Aeroexpress is getting trains and passenger terminals ready for the upcoming winter season.
The company’s specialists are currently carrying out rolling stock examinations and preparing trains to operate under the low-temperature conditions. They are checking the air conditioning inside carriages and replacing seals in sliding plug doors to make sure that the temperature inside the carriages is always comfortable for passengers.
As part of this preparation, electric current collectors are being adjusted to comply with winter standards. Specialists are also examining and adjusting seals in underbody boxes with electrical equipment. They are also checking and, if necessary, repairing window heating systems in driver’s cabins, fixing air pipes, and doing many other jobs aimed at ensuring uninterrupted transportation and high-quality passenger service during the cold season.
The new-generation double-decker trains do not require such a thorough inspection as the built-in diagnostic systems perform the majority of operations.
Besides, the company’s staff have also inspected all Aeroexpress rail terminals. As part of this inspection, they adjusted air conditioning and heating systems. They made sure that all cleaning services are prepared to keep passenger areas clean and at a comfortable temperature. They also checked the availability of the equipment required to keep exterior structures in good order during winter. All employees have been provided with special winter clothes.
Regular season inspections ensure transportation reliability, safety, and comfort during the winter season.
