Aeroexpress Summarizes Summer Performance

Sep 8, 2020

During this summer, Aeroexpress trains and express buses transported over 1,200,000 passengers.

Even though global air travel has not yet recovered in full and the tourist season in Russia started only in July, the number of Aeroexpress passengers continues to grow steadily, which proves the demand for reliable and safe transfers to the airports under current conditions. In August, passenger demand increased 1.5 times compared to July, amounting to 650,000 people. It is noteworthy that Aeroexpress trains transported nearly 20,000 passengers a month during the pandemic peak in April and May. In total, during the three summer months, Aeroexpress trains and buses carried over 1.2 million passengers to and from the airports.

New fares and special offers promote growth in the popularity of Aeroexpress trips. Thus, beginning June 15, one ticket at the ‘Standard’ and ‘Business Class’ rate costs 300 roubles and 800 roubles respectively. Previously, ‘Standard’ ticket cost 500 roubles, and the price of ‘Business Class’ ticket was 1,500 roubles. Therefore, trips to and from the airport are now twice more cost-effective.

Moreover, starting from August 15, a new loyalty programme, Aeroexpress PRIVILEGE, is available to all passengers. It makes it possible for passengers to obtain exclusive discounts and gifts from the company's partners, as well as collect bonus points and use them to pay for Aeroexpress tickets.

The company pays special attention to passengers’ safety. Since the epidemiological situation has deteriorated, all preventive measures have been significantly enhanced to prevent the infection from spreading onboard trains. All Aeroexpress trains and passenger terminals are cleaned using disinfecting solutions at least three times a day. The air in double-decker trains is continuously disinfected by special embedded systems. Now, when the regular timetable has restored, and passenger demand has been gradually increasing, the company has ramped up safety measures even more, introducing another effective disinfecting method, which is treating trains with cold foggers. Spacious carriages make it possible for passengers to maintain the required social distance.
