Aeroexpress Passenger Traffic at Group Fares Increased by 80% in 2018

At the beginning of 2018, Aeroexpress group fares were represented by the Family and Group tickets. They were replaced by the Family & Friends and Family & Friends Round-Trip fares in April. Once the new fares had been introduced, the number of group trips significantly increased, as they allow passengers to save over 50% of the standard ticket price.

“By offering travellers new, cost-effective group fares, we also took care of efficient sales channels,” said Alina Bisembaeva, CEO of Aeroexpress. “Currently, passengers can purchase Family & Friends and Family & Friends Round-Trip tickets from ticket offices, TVMs, mobile sales advisors, website and via the app. At the end of last year, the tickets also became available from our partners. Therefore, we expect the share of group ticket sales to increase even more this year.”

In 2018, the average share of the group fares amounted to 10% of the total number of sales, which is twice as much as compared to 2017. The highest demand for the Family & Friends and Family & Friends Round-Trip fares was recorded during the summer months, as this is traditionally a period of family holidays. The overall share of group trips during that time exceeded 17% of the total sales.

The Family & Friends and Family & Friends Round-Trip fares apply to groups of up to four people travelling one way or making a round trip respectively. Family and Friends ticket costs 950 roubles, which is a little more than 230 roubles per person. Passengers travelling at Friends and Family Round-Trip fare will pay 1,700 roubles. Thus, the cost of a trip for one person will be just over 210 roubles.
