Passport Details to be Required to Purchase Aeroexpress Tickets
Starting from September 15, 2016, passengers will need to provide their passport details when purchasing Aeroexpress tickets via the company’s website at www.aeroexpress.ru or via its mobile app.
Such measures are being taken in accordance with Order No. 473 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on ‘On Approving the Conditions of Rail Carriage for Passengers, Baggage, and Cargo Luggage’ and are aimed at enhancing the security and safety of our passengers.
To purchase tickets, passengers will need to provide the number of their personal identification document and their full name. Aeroexpress specialists have made the process of inputting personal data as convenient and quick as possible.
Personal data will be processed by information systems in strict compliance with current laws and all necessary data protection measures.
It is worth noting that it is not necessary for passengers to provide their personal data when purchasing tickets from the company’s ticket offices or via ticket vending machines.
“Safe transportation has always been the priority of Aeroexpress,” says Aeroexpress Chief Operating Officer Alexey Sorokin. “The new ticket sale rules will virtually have no effect on the time required for purchasing tickets. However, they will significantly improve travel safety and security. We hope for our passengers’ understanding with respect to these measures.”
The following documents can be used as identity documents:
•ID (for foreign citizens)
•Foreign passport (for foreign citizens)
•Military card number or seafarer's ID
•Birth certificate (for children)
•Temporary ID of a Russian citizen (Form 2P)
