Seven new double-deck trains will start running between the Paveletsky Rail Terminal and Domodedovo Airport by the end of 2017. The first new-generation train will take its first trip along this route on 22 November.
The introduction of Aeroexpress’ double-deck trains is one of the most important milestones in the company’s development. New rolling stock is a logical continuation of Aeroexpress’ initiatives to regularly improve passenger service quality. Upgrading trains on this route is another step towards making the transportation environment as comfortable as possible. The company is currently building its four-storey terminal, finishing the construction of the second roofed platform, and renovating its platform at Paveletsky Rail Terminal.
New double-deck Aeroexpress trains commenced operation on 27 October 2017, carrying passengers from Kievsky Rail Terminal to Vnukovo Airport and back. Stadler has manufactured eleven double-deck trains especially for Aeroexpress, designed using cutting-edge technologies with a particular focus on passengers’ comfort.
The new ESh-2 trains can reach the speed of 160 km/h. Four-carriage and six-carriage trains provide 396 and 700 seats correspondingly, of which 84 seats are in business class carriages. Each carriage is furnished with several screens, sockets, easily transformable comfortable seats, and a free Wi-Fi network.
