Most often, travellers purchase Aeroexpress tickets from ticket vending machines and ticket offices. Results from 1Q2016 indicate that 44.2% and 37.4% of passengers correspondingly preferred these sales channels for purchasing their tickets.
The Company’s specialists noted growth in ticket sales via the website www.aeroexpress.ru and the Aeroexpress mobile app. Website sales in 1Q2016 accounted for 6.8% of total sales, which exceeds last year’s result by 11%. While the number of sales through the mobile app usually grows during New Year holidays, 4% of passengers also chose this payment option in 1Q2016.
“Nowadays, Aeroexpress offers the greatest choice of sales technologies compared to other Russian transport companies,” says Chief Operating Officer Alexey Sorokin. “After all, payment convenience and comfort is the key to a successful start to your journey.”
Mobile ticket sales clerks also ranked among rating leaders as they sold 4.4% of all tickets in 1Q2016. It should be noted that travelers are now using the Pay@Gate contactless payment system more often. The number of passengers paying for their travel at the turnstiles using MasterCard PayPass, Visa payWave, and Troika cards increased 30% compared to the same period last year. We recall that Aeroexpress started accepting Troika cards to pay for tickets in November 2014. Since then, e-wallet sales figures increased by more than one-third.
