Aeroexpress Summarises Results for 2015

Feb 15, 2016

The Aeroexpress company has summarised the results of its operations in 2015. A total of 13 million passengers used the carrier’s services last year, which is fewer than in 2014, when the company transported 16.6 million passengers. The company has a 17% share in the Moscow Air Cluster’s intermodal transportation market, compared to 21.65% in 2014.

The Domodedovo route remained the most popular in 2015, accounting for 5.8 million passengers using Aeroexpress services. This number amounted to 7.6 million last year. The number of passengers carried between the Belorussky Rail Terminal and Sheremetyevo Airport totalled 4.4 million people, which is 31% less than in 2014, when this number was 6.4 million.

In 2014, 2.6 million travellers opted for the Vnukovo route. In 2015, their number increased by 8% and amounted to 2.8 million. This trend is due to a significant increase in the airport’s passenger flow and the commencement of Pobeda Airlines’ operations. The pressing economic situation is affecting the travel services market and has inevitably affected Aeroexpress’ operations. Among the factors leading to a reduced number of passengers transported is the growing number of transit passengers transiting via Moscow airports, the suspension of flights to/from Egypt and Turkey, and improvements in the city’s road conditions. Anticipating a decrease in passenger flow, we decided to introduce a range of measures to improve the efficiency of the company’s business processes, to decrease costs, and also increase unrelated business income. Such measures have enabled the company to achieve positive financial results,” stated Alexey Krivoruchko, CEO at Aeroexpress.

The company’s revenue for the reporting period amounted to RUB 6,064,000,000, which represents a 6.1% decrease from last year. In addition, Aeroexpress’ net profit amounted to RUB 1,481,000,000 in 2015 versus RUB 1,599,000 in 2014. EBITDA demonstrated growth in 2015 and totalled RUB 2,690,000,000, which is 3.8% higher than last year. Based on the results from 2015, the value of Aeroexpress net assets increased by 10%, from RUB 2,826,000,000 to RUB 3,097,000,000.
