Aeroexpress to Amend its Tariff Policy

May 28, 2015

28.05.2015 — Moscow. As of 1 June, a number of Aeroexpress fares will be changed, with some of them rising by RUB 20. At Aeroexpress, the amended tariff policy is due to the fact that the cost for the company to use the infrastructure has risen 100 times compared to the beginning of the year with inflation hitting 7.9% in the first four months of 2015.

Thus, beginning on 1 June, a Standard single ticket will cost RUB 470 and the price of a Round-trip ticket will be RUB 940. Plus Metro tickets will amount to RUB 530, Between Airports will be RUB 1000 and one Business Trip ticket will cost RUB 1050. Herewith, for those purchasing Aeroexpress tickets via e-channels — such as through the website www.aeroexpress.ru or a mobile app — Standard and Round-trip tickets will cost RUB 420 and RUB 840 correspondingly. By introducing this measure, Aeroexpress has tried to make the price increase easier for passengers to deal with by offering several options for buying tickets online.

“We absolutely had no choice but to increase some fare prices and this was unavoidable under current economic circumstances,” explained Alexey Sorokin, Chief Operating Officer at Aeroexpress. “It is no secret that the price for the company to use infrastructure has risen by 100 times compared to the beginning of the year. Respectively, our yearly expenses in relation to this item have amounted to over RUB 500,000,000. We have long searched for a way to compensate these expenses, which would not directly affect our passengers’ interests. Nevertheless, a certain increase in fare prices was just necessary in order to keep the quality of services at the same high level. We also hope that our passengers will be understanding about this measure.”

It should also be noted that, despite the rising inflation rate, the company’s relatively high expenses to ensure the high quality of its services and Aeroexpress’ care for socially vulnerable categories of passengers, the company has had a reasonable fare policy over the last four years,
