Furnishing the trains with the Wi-Fi equipment was one of the company’s priorities in 2014. From 19 February to 31 March 2015, the project was running in test mode. During this period, the average speed of the internet connection aboard the moving train was approximately 25 mbps. The best result was obtained at Sheremetyevo during a stop when the connection speed reached 115 mbps.
Aeroexpress has done its best to launch this high-speed internet service, having selected reliable and responsible providers. Broadband Internet access was achieved by combining the Internet traffic of all four mobile operators providing communications services in the Moscow region. The services are supplied by RDLTelecom, which ensures high-speed Internet access using the 3G/LTE networks of the Megafon, Beeline, MTS, and YOTA operators.
All company’s activities are guided by the principle of ‘comfort, speed, and a modern approach’. Therefore, Aeroexpress awards special attention to the deployment of state-of-the-art services using cutting-edge IT developments. Thus, the company’s mobile app has been successfully developing for four years. Passengers can use it to purchase train tickets and pass through the turnstile with a phone displaying the QR-code. In 2013, the turnstiles were equipped with the Pay@Gate payment technology, which is unique for the Russian transport industry. This enables instant payments by contactless MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave bank cards.
