For several years Russian e-travel market continues to show strong growth (according to the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC), in 2014 it can raise by 45% vs. 2013). This positive dynamics of the market supports PayPal’s decision to develop solutions to grow business in online travel segment. Planning and booking trips via Internet becomes ongoing habit for more and more Russians, who want to have convenient financial tools at hand, allowing them to conduct payments securely.
“We’re very excited to announce our relationship with Aeroexpress,” says Vladimir Malugin, Head of PayPal Russia. “We always strive to be where faster and more secure online payments are needed and are proud that the possibility to buy tickets on Aeroexpress is now available to more travelers no matter where they are. This is very simple, no typing 16-digits numbers and waiting for 3D-secure, – all you need to remember and enter is your login and password to PayPal”.
“Aeroexpress consistently works on making the quality of its service higher by proving new tools to purchase tickets. – comments Alexey Sorokin, Executive Director of Aeroexpress, - According to statistics, around 5% of tickets, purchased via aeroexpress.ru, are bought by foreigners. Now in cooperation with PayPal we are opening new tool to our foreign and Russian passengers, making our service even more convenient”.
It’s important to note, that besides CIS countries Aeroexpress tickets are most often bought by travelers from US, Germany, UK, France and Holland. At the same time, travel segment in cross-boarder online trade grows in Russia and globally with the highest speed. Integration of PayPal allows foreigners to leverage the payment tool, that they are already used to, on yet another platform – Aeroexpress ticket service.
“PayPal integration into online services of our exclusive partner Aeroexpress is an important step towards convenience of client service. We are sure that this is only the start of further interesting cooperative projects in the field of electronic and mobile commerce” – comments Alexey Vasyasin, Commercial Director of Payment service RURU.
