Aeroexpress Fare Payment with Troika Gains Momentum

Dec 9, 2014

09.12.2014. — Moscow. In the two weeks since implementing the service for paying the Aeroexpress fare with Troika cards in Moscow, more than 160 people have taken advantage of this option. The new fare collection system was introduced on 25 November.

Earlier, beginning on 29 October, Aeroexpress has enabled Troika card holders to top up their balance at either ticket offices or special validation kiosks installed at the company’s terminals. During this period, passengers topped up their Troika e-Purses in an amount exceeding 40 thousand rubles.

The new fare collection option has proven to be the most popular on the Sheremetyevo route. Here, more than 70 people have tried it, compared to 52 and 38 at the Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports, respectively.

It should be recalled that, to pay the fare for travel on branded red trains, you just need to put your card against the reader located on the Aeroexpress turnstile. The fare is collected according to the Standard fare rate, which is RUB 400. No additional fees are charged. If necessary, you can also take advantage of the Deferment of Topping Up option at both ticket offices and special validation kiosks, which have been installed at Aeroexpress terminals. The option makes it possible to top up the Troika card’s e-Purse using a mobile app and/or via the website at www.troika.mos.ru.

The new fare payment project using Troika cards was jointly implemented by Aeroexpress and the Moscow Metro with the support of the capital’s Transport Department.
