Yubileynaya Stop to Be Introduced on Aeroexpress Route in Kazan on 1 June

May 13, 2014

12.05.2014. – Moscow. As of 1 June 2014, Aeroexpress will introduce an additional intermediate stop at Yubileynaya Station on the route connecting the city’s central rail terminal and Kazan International Airport. However, travel time will remain the same – just 20 minutes between the airport and the city centre. Therefore, Aeroexpress aims to make the route even more comfortable for Kazan passengers.

Timetable changes will also be in effect as of 1 June: those services, which earlier departed at 10, 15, and 20 minutes, will then begin departing at the top of the hour. Thus, the train to Kazan International Airport will depart at 0:00 instead of 00:15, and trains running in the opposite direction will depart at 15:00, 17:00, and 23:00 instead of 15:10, 17:10, and 23:20. As a result, the Aeroexpress timetable in Kazan will become a timetable synchronized with the clock, with departures happening every 30 minutes.

Regular Aeroexpress services were launched in Kazan on 22 May and were part of the preparations for the 27th Summer Universiade. According to the regular timetable, 18 trains per day run on this route. The fare is RUB 200. The fare on the route between Kazan Rail Terminal and Yubileynaya Station will be RUB 140, while the fare on the route between the airport and Yubileynaya Station will still be RUB 200.

In the first quarter of 2014, Aeroexpress carried over 10,300 passengers on the ‘Kazan Rail Terminal – Kazan International Airport’ air-rail link.
