Sep 28, 2010

Aeroexpress took part in the 16th annual World Routes Forum-2010, which took place from September 19 to 21 in Vancouver, Canada. The forum attracted more than 2,500 air transportation professionals from all over the world.

Dmitry Khazov, Aeroexpress Marketing Department Director, took part in the biggest aviation event of the year.

The main goal of Aeroexpress’ participation in Routes-2010 was to improve cooperation within the Moscow airport system of Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo Airports so as to increase the quantity and quality of the route network through Moscow. An additional goal was to promote the Aeroexpress brand on the international market.

Aeroexpress was represented by its own exhibition zone at the stand of Sheremetyevo International Airport. Visitors could see Aeroexpress’ current business and plans for the future.

Dmitry Khazov, Aeroexpress Marketing Department Director, took part in the presentation of the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), which focused on the experience of serving delegations and guests of the 2010 Olympics and Paralympics, and a special technical tour of the Canada Line – an intermodal train connection to Vancouver, made by Protrans BC and SNC-Lavalin.

Dmitry Khazov noted that “Aeroexpress was especially interested in information about serving passengers during the Olympic Games in Vancouver. For us this is undoubtedly very beneficial experience, since Aeroexpress is being considered to be an operator of the railway routes at the Sochi-2014 Olympics.”

The forum is a world platform for sharing experience. The open meetings featured active discussion among airport specialists who work in airports which already have or are planning to build Intermodal train connections. In particular, the following foreign airports took an interest in Aeroexpress’ experience at organizing and developing intermodal connections: Oslo, Amsterdam, Manchester, Lyon, Warsaw, Riga, and Kiev, as well as the largest regional airports in Russia, such as Pulkovo (St. Petersburg), Tolmachevo (Novosibirsk), and Koltsovo (Ekaterinburg).
