Yota’s Internet to appear on Aeroexpresses

Jan 27, 2010

LLC Aeroexpress and Yota, a developer and supplier of innovative mobile services, are pleased to announce the start of their cooperation in offering the 4G wireless mobile Internet to passengers on high-speed electric trains linking the city center and the Moscow air hub's airports.

As part of the agreement between the companies, Yota is going to provide Aeroexpress passengers with wideband wireless Internet access from their devices. WiMAX/Wi-Fi routers are going to be installed in high-speed coaches so that conventional Wi-Fi devices could also receive the signal. Those who have Yota’s devices will access the Internet in the ordinary way. Passengers who do not have WiMAX devices will be offered Yota’s Wi-Fi Internet access for free.

The project is starting in the first quarter of 2010. The Internet is first to appear on the trains running to Sheremetyevo International Airport. As of today, Yota’s specialists are testing the signal and setting up the equipment.
