The new service is available due to a new technology of ticket registration with the Sabre global system of flights’ booking.

The new service makes it possible for a passenger to book and pay for an Aeroexpress train ticket together with a plane ticket at a special price in sales offices of the Aeroflot company.

To get the ticket a passenger is to provide a passport – and a route cheque (electronic ticket) if necessary – at special ticket offices with the Service sign in Aeroexpress railway terminals at the Belorussky Railway Station and at the Sheremetyevo Airport. The procedure will take just a few seconds and won’t disturb the passenger.

The first passenger to enjoy the combined transportation was Lidia Pchelko, who arrived in Moscow from Nizhnevartovsk by plane on October 20. Lidia appeared to be a regular user of Aeroexpress services during her frequent business trips to the capital of Russia and she was pleased when offered a special price Aeroexpress train ticket while buying one for an Aeroflot plane. Speakers of the Aeroexpress and Aeroflot companies thanked the first passenger when they met Lidia at the Sheremetyevo Airport and ceremonially presented her with a diploma, a bunch of flowers and some memorabilia.

Under Aeroflot experts’ estimate, in the future the registration of combined tickets through the Sabre booking system will attract up to 1,000 extra passengers per 24 hours.

In September 2009, a total of 172,000 passengers used the Aeroexpress service on the Belorussky Railway Station – Sheremetyevo Airport line, which shows a 17% increase compared to the previous month, when the trains departed from the Savyolovsky Railway Station only.

Passengers departing through the Sheremetyevo Airport can register for the flight and register the luggage in a terminal at the Belorussky Railway Station. The trip time will be 35 minutes. Aeroexpress has been joined by the Sheremetyevo Airport in establishing a pay-free bus service between the railway terminal and Sheremetyevo-2, Sheremetyevo-1 and C terminal.
