The child’s tour of the airport was arranged by the Aeroexpress and TransArt companies jointly with the Sheremetyevo Airport and the Rasprav Krylya (Spread the Wings) charity fund providing social support to children. The event celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the airport and the launch of a regular train service between the Belorussky Railway Station and the Sheremetyevo Airport.

The children were given a unique opportunity to see the airport from the apron, come close to the planes and landing strips. Not only did the excursion include a tour of famous buildings like the Olympic Terminal Sheremetyevo-2 and Ryumka (small liqueur glass), but also a visit to the new Terminals E and D. The children were also shown the Sheremetyevo business-aviation hangars and the work of unique scales for weighing small-size planes. The staff members of the Production – Control Service of Sheremetyevo showed it to the young visitors how the real time work on the distribution of the parking lots at the apron is performed. Following the introductory part of the tour the staff members of the service initiated the children into the Sheremetyevo dispatcher profession and presented each of them with a distinctive service badge.

The Journey to Sheremetyevo – the Airport of the Future ended with a festive dinner at the Pyaty Okean (Fifth Ocean) Sheremetyevo-2 restaurant overlooking the airfield.
