Aeroexpress sums up performance in first half of 2009

In January 1 - June 30, 2009 LLC Aeroexpress carried 3,442,000 passengers on all operation lines with 2,623,000 (76%) being airline passengers of the largest Russian airports: Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo.

The first six months of 2009 proved the Paveletsky Railway Station – Domodedovo International Airport line and Savyolovsky Railway Station – Lobnya Station line to be in the greatest demand among Aeroexpress passengers. 

The company introduced a number of new services during the first six months of the year, including Family tariff (for families with children aged under 12) and Return Ticket (for meeting and seeing off passengers) and a Personal Assistant service for physically disadvantaged people. The company joined by the Sheremetyevo International Airport set cost-free bus service between the railway terminal and 1 and C terminals. Aeroexpress also updated its rolling stock: three new ED4M trains started running to the Domodedovo Airport, and two new state-of-the-art ED4MKM-AERO trains started operation on the Domodedovo line. 

Railway transport is still in high demand among airline passengers. Over 19,500 people (June 2009 figure) use the Aeroexpress services daily. The overall share of the company in the total passenger traffic to airports was recorded at over 15% in the first half of the year. 

The new state-of-the-art airline expresses considerably safe travelling time taking into account the traffic jams on roads, and are currently the fastest transportation means to airportы. The trains’ travelling time varies depending on the line from 30 minutes (to Sheremetyevo) to 45 minutes (to Domodedovo).
