Aeroexpress serves one millionth customer on Savyolovsky– Sheremetyevo line

Jun 29, 2009

On June 26, 2009 Aeroexpress passed the one million threshold of customers served on the Savyolovsky Railway Station – Sheremetyevo International Airport line.

The one millionth ticket was bought by the Tereshchuks family from the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, who were on their way home from a resort in Turkey. The important event took place at a ticket office of the Savyolovsky Railway Station terminal at 5.30 p.m., Moscow time.

The name of the one millionth passenger was announced via the terminal public address system and the family was solemnly congratulated in the waiting room, which had been decorated with balloons on this occasion. Aeroexpress representatives made a warm congratulatory speech and the Tereshchuks were given an honorable diploma of the one millionth passenger. The family was also presented with a bunch of flowers and the main prize, which was a portable DVD player with a film collection called Around the World in 80 Treasures.

The lucky ticket was bought on the Family fare, which enabled the family of four to save 50% of the combined ticket price. It is noteworthy that the fare was introduced on the Savyolovsky Railway Station – Sheremetyevo Airport line in March 2009. Using the service two adults and up to 3 children aged 12 or younger can by one ticket for 500 rubles.

Michail Kowalski, the LLC Aeroexpress Commercial Director, said that the one millionth passenger served during one year on the Savyolovsky Railway Station – Sheremetyevo route is an indicator of the company development dynamics and importance of its services to the customers. The total passenger traffic flow on all Aeroexpress lines is expected to reach nine million people in July 2009. This August LLC Aeroexpress  joined by the JSC RZD Railway Station Directorate plans to open a new direct railway line between the Belorussky Railway Station and the Sheremetyevo Airport. Aeroexpress thinks that opening a new route from the Belorussky Railway Station will considerably reduce the load on the Savyolovsky line and make travelling by the Aeroexpress trains more comfortable.
