As part of the exhibition, the Stadler Rail Group will demonstrate a double-deck train prototype designed for Aeroexpress, which will surely appeal to specialists and visitors to EXPO 1520. This is one of the most important exhibition pieces for Russian consumers. The official Aeroexpress - Stadler Rail Group delegation is comprised of Aeroexpress CEO Alexey Krivoruchko, along with Peter Jenelten, Executive Vice President for Marketing and Sales at Stadler Rail AG and Matthias Stehr, Commercial Director for the CIS countries at Stadler Rail AG.

The Stadler Rail Group has become an Aeroexpress strategic partner after participating and winning the international tender in Moscow, and after signing the contract to supply double-deck rolling stock. Aeroexpress currently carries about 18 million people per year. The number of passengers is growing and the available capacity of trains running between the Moscow rail terminals and airports is insufficient. The new rolling stock, which is expected to service the aforesaid routes, will enable Aeroexpress to increase passenger capacity and provide travellers with even more comfortable conditions. The design of the double-deck trains for Aeroexpress will be based on the existing KISS trains. Light aluminium used in the construction of new trains will replace heavy steel, which is traditionally used for rolling stock. This will significantly decrease the railcars’ weight and reduce operating costs. The new trains will have a top speed of 160 km/h.

It is anticipated that the first trains will be put into operation in 2015. The entire Aeroexpress rolling stock fleet in Moscow will be renewed by late 2016.
