Aeroexpress Releases Its Windows Mobile App

11 July 2013, Moscow. - Aeroexpress continues to develop mobile payment services to purchase tickets for its branded high-speed trains. The company is releasing the Aeroexpress App for smart phones with Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5.

The Aeroexpress App is now available for free download from the Windows Phone Store. It enables passengers to purchase Aeroexpress tickets directly from their mobile phones at any time and place, conveniently and without any queues. Payments can be made with Visa and MasterCard bank cards, as well as from users’ mobile phone balance (available for clients using Beeline, Megafon, and MTS mobile network operators).

After paying for the ticket via the mobile application, users can pass through the turnstiles at the Aeroexpress terminal by placing the mobile phone screen with the received QR-code against the reader. No Internet connection is required to read the QR-code. Moreover, this service provides access to the online departure and arrival boards for Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo airports. The application provides the schemes for the terminals and Aeroexpress timetables. All features are available free of charge and do not influence the price of purchased tickets, which is RUB 320 for standard class and RUB 900 for business class.

“It is now even more convenient to use Aeroexpress services now that online ticket payment technologies have been implemented. It has been half a year since our app was released for iOS and Android users. In this period, it has been downloaded by over 100,000 users,” comments Nadezhda Dorzhieva, Press Secretary with Aeroexpress. “With the release of the Windows Phone version, we have covered almost the entire smartphone and tablet PC audience, comprised of modern business people, representing the majority of Aeroexpress passengers. Our current plans entail continuing to improve the payment options and services provided to our passengers through ongoing improvements and upgrades of mobiles apps, among other things.”

The Aeroexpress app for iOS and Android users has been available since January 2013. During this period, it has been used to complete over 6,900 purchases.
