Temporary closures between Belorusskaya and Novokuznetskaya Stations on the Zamoskvoretskaya Metro Line

Nov 16, 2011

According to information published on the official website of the Moscow Metro, trains will not run between Belorusskaya and Novokuznetskaya stations on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line from 19 to 20 November 2011 and from 26 to 27 November 2011 due to the installation of a rail vibration protection system (Order No. 61-02-171/1 of the Government of Moscow dated 08 November 2011). Mayakovskaya, Tverskaya, and Teatralnaya stations will be closed to passengers, both for entering and exiting, as well as for transferring from the stations to other metro lines.

The temporary closure of this section of the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line is due to essential work being carried out to reduce noise and vibration on the rails by installing special rail vibration absorbing fasteners and vibration isolation mats at the track switches. This technically challenging and time-consuming procedure cannot be carried out without stopping trains during this time.

Trains will run on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line between Rechnoy Vokzal and Belorusskaya metro stations, and between Novokuznetskaya and Krasnogvardeyskaya stations. Regular overground public transport will run more frequently during this time on Tverskaya Street to minimize disruption to passengers.
